Before jumping into the trim levels, we first need to go over the cabin configurations you’ll have to choose from. Each one has its own perks and amenities. If you prefer one over the other, this can be a driving force behind which trim level you select.

The 2022 Ram 2500 is available in three separate cabin styles: Regular Cab, Crew Cab, and the most spacious of the three, the Mega Cab:

There are also two boxes to choose between, depending on the trim level and the cabin you go with. There’s a 6-foot, 4-inch bed and an 8-foot bed. The Regular Cab always comes with the 8-foot bed, while the Mega Cab® always comes with the 6-foot, 4-inch bed.

The Crew Cab can be attached to either box—except with the Power Wagon trim level, which only comes with the 6-foot, 4-inch box.

Ram 2500 Tradesman: Ample Brawn From the Jump

The first 2022 Ram 2500 trim we’ll cover is the Tradesman. One key element that stands out in this trim level is its power. Even though it’s a base trim, it comes ready with robust strength to tow and haul heavy items, thanks to its standard 6.4L HEMI® V8 engine.

This powertrain will deliver 410 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque and is paired with a smooth-shifting 8-speed automatic transmission. The result is this trim being able to haul 17,540 pounds when properly equipped to help you carry some serious cargo around your worksite.

If that isn’t quite enough power for you, you can choose to add the available 6.7L Cummins® Turbo Diesel I6 engine that produces 370 horsepower and an outstanding 850 lb-ft, making even the sharpest of turns no issue at all. With this engine at your side, you can tow up to 20,000 pounds when properly equipped and utilize a maximum payload of 3,160 pounds.

Not only does this truck pack a ton of power—it packs a ton of brains, too. As we know, Ram trucks are known for being able to handle a lot of weight. However, do you want to know your trailer is secure at all times without having to look over your shoulder?

Well, we’ve got good news. The Ram 2500 lets you do that!

Across all Ram 2500 trims, including the Tradesman, you can add available towing technologies that’ll make life so much easier when you’re towing anything. Leading off, let’s take a look at the Trailer 360° Surround View Camera, which gives you an all-around view of your trailer to make sure it’s secure and nothing is in its way.

Just like your truck’s tires, you want to know that your trailer’s tires are properly inflated. The available Trailer Tire Pressure Monitoring system will give you readings for up to 12 tires on four different trailers. If you want to take a quick look at your trailer in the rearview mirror, you can add the Digital Rearview Mirror with Tow Mode.

Ram 2500 Big Horn: Easy Access

When you’re spending your whole day at your worksite, you know the importance of convenience and efficiency. You want to be able to unlock your truck quickly, so you can grab the necessary paperwork and be on your way.

With remote keyless entry in the Big Horn, you can click a button on your key fob to lock and unlock your pickup—there’s no need to fiddle with a key. The Big Horn also gives you the convenience of the Trailer Brake Controller, which can automatically apply the brakes if needed and stop your trailer from rattling around.

Stylistically, the Big Horn has a couple features on its exterior that will really help it stand out. You’ll love the distinctive Chrome Grille-Surround with Black Insert, and 18-inch Steel Chrome wheels.

Ram 2500 Laramie: Upgrade Your Relaxation

As your cruise from construction site to construction site, you want to be as cozy as possible. The 2022 Ram 2500 Laramie trim level adds an 8-way power-adjustable driver and front passenger seats to do just that. Choose from an array of seating positions to find the one that best supports you throughout your journey.

In the winter, you can switch on the heated front seats for a toasty ride wherever the road takes you. Oh, and did we mention that the available bucket seats are leather-trimmed? Talk about comfortable!

What’s more, the Laramie is here to lend a hand when you need to pull into or back out of a parking space, with the ParkSense® Front and Rear Park-Assist System. If there are any objects in your way, including vehicles that may not provide enough space for you to park, the system will alert you with a series of beeps. The closer you are to an object, the more frequent the beeping will be.

Ram 2500 Power Wagon: Summit Small Mountains

The next 2022 Ram 2500 trim we want to highlight is the Power Wagon. This model continues to add to the performance of this competent truck, with a standard 4-wheel drive system. This feature sends power to all four wheels, enabling you to take on rocks, boulders, mud, and anything else that stands in your way.

To ensure every off-road trek is protected, Hill Descent Control is another amenity on this trim level. This feature works to control braking while you’re descending steep inclines, so you can make your way to the bottom safely. It also adds a front electric winch and tow hooks to the exterior for even more capability.

Ram 2500 Limited Longhorn: Refined Style and Comfort

The Ram 2500 Limited Longhorn is a desirable option, with a unique design exclusive to this trim level. For starters, the cabin can be outfitted in Mountain Brown and Light Mountain Brown or Black and Cattle Tan colors.

This luxurious trim not only looks good but upgrades your comfort as well. In the summer, you’ll be grateful for ventilated front seats working to cool you down after hours spent laboring in the sun. Tech lovers will rejoice in what the top-tier Limited trim level has to offer. Front and center, you’ll find the Uconnect® 5 system with an expansive 12-inch display. This system is armed with navigation to help you explore with ease. It’s also paired with a 9-speaker Alpine® sound system to ensure every song and every podcast sounds clear and refined.

If you really want to take your entertainment to the next level, though, you can opt for the Harmon Kardon® Premium Audio System. It surrounds your cabin with 17 well-placed speakers for a listening experience like no other.
